An advance of the programming of the OFF ICMC that will take place this year in Barcelona between the 5 and September 10:
Literal:
“El opening ceremony will include the action of the composer Chris Brown, that will utilize for the first time in direct the reacTable, a new musical instrument developed in the MTG, simultaneously to another reacTable in Linz (Austria) where will be celebrated Ars Electronica the most important festival of the world in the country of the art that utilizes new media. That same day, Gert-Jan Prins will present ‘Glow’, an audiovisual piece for electronic circuits, radio transmitters and pipe of television. Prins has been consolidated in recent years as one of the figures more assets of the scene of the improvisation of the electronic scene. Its music, to half a road between the noise and the electronics, will not leave anyone indifferent.
During the week there will be musical proposals of all types: Marc Behrens (Germany) i Paulo Fox (Portugal) they will present its electronic minimalist; Convolution Brothers, formation comprising Zack Settel and Cort Lippe that recently has incorporated to Miller Puckette, the creator of the environments of programming MAX and PD; The Bent Leather Band (Australia), electroacoustic duet in which Stuart Favilla and Joanne Cannon utilize experimental instruments built by them same in contribution with the artist Garry Greenwood. Another of the main courses will be the virtuous one “turntablista” French eRikm, that will act Friday night.
International presences as those of Envyloop, Butch Rovan (United States) next to Ulrich Maiss (Germany), Kanta Horio (Japan), EPY (Austria / Germany / Barcelona), Diemo Schwarz (France), Nick Collins (United Kingdom) next to Ge Wang (United States), Sonreel (United States), the trio Afrouzeh (Holland / United States), Coeval (Màlaga/Madrid) or Wade
Mathews (Madrid), besides personages of the scene of Barcelona as: Jakob Draminsky, Sergi Jordà, the visual agitator Solu and the guitarist Pedro Barboza. Of the remainder of Spain, Coeval (Madrid) and Wade Matthews (Madrid).
OFF ICMC will count also with a sonic art installations exposition that will be able to visit in Metrònom during the OFF ICMC, they will be: Peter Bosch and Simone Simons (Netherlands/Espanña) they will present its installation ‘Último Rural Effort’; Gullibloom (Austria/Germany) will present an installation based on the program that have developed to visualize and sonificar the activity of a network of computers. Àgueda Simó (Espanña) will expose one of its more recent works. The space of Metrònom they will complete it Juan Pablo Sorrentino (Argentina) and an interactive installation of Grenzenlosefreiheit (Alemania)”.
