Memefest splits of the principle that there is a lot of talent and wasteful knowledge in the industries of publicity and marketing, and the dispersion of infectious negative ideas. But there is hope. Together, we can explore how these ideas are and they can be scattered, being retorted to itself to way of a virus … without no human effort. These ideas disseminated are calls memes. The goal of Memefest and the challenge for the participants is to generate and to retort spoil positive and beneficial.

Memefest 2005 asks the students of Communication and Sociology to discuss the text of Douglas Rushkoff: “Without where be hidden“. This it examines the publicists subversives intents that seek to convince the massive consumers and, especially, to the reluctant and cynical consumers. To the visual artists is invited them to respond to “The popular Manifesto on the communication“, a “manifiesto democratic” that ready the necessary thing to correct the failures of the media and the technology of the violence, as well as the inherent prejudices in them.
